How the silk base French Knot Technology is made
The process needs two layers of fabric fixed onto the working frame: skin-toned silk fabric on top, durable lace mesh underneath. The artisan holds a ventilating needle in one hand and a small bundle of hair in the other — the needle passes through the silk, then through the lace mesh to catch a single strand, which is secured to the lace with a double knot for durability and minimal shedding. Finally the hair is pulled back through the upper silk layer and pressed into place, so the knot sits completely hidden beneath the silk and the hair appears to grow straight out of the scalp.
